From vision to reality:
The story of the “ma maison”.

The French hospitality of a boutique hotel – that was what Mandy Töllner wanted to bring to Dömitz and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern when she bought the landmarked building from the municipality in 2007. Until then it had been a residential house, and at times a studio. Later, it stood empty until she converted it into a real jewel.

The French country house style that Mandy Töllner added to the property was inspired by her love of French cuisine.

What she appreciates about the belle cuisine is the quiet, authentic way of cooking, the fresh herbs and ingredients.

Being familiar with the local gastronomy and hotel business, she knew that there was a demand. How many times had she experienced cyclists traveling the Elbe Cycle Path being sent away late in the evening because of no vacancy! She wanted to change that while giving vacationers a domicile that also reflected her own personality: refined, environmentally and quality-conscious, modern and stylish in its combination of the old and the new.

It was only after the purchase of the property that the overall concept for the ma maison was formed in Mandy Töllner’s mind: a boutique hotel – a small and uniquely designed house – unlike any other hotel in Dömitz and Mecklenburg. French rooms and suites, French cuisine, and warm hospitality, just as you would expect from France! Less than 300 metres from the banks of the Elbe in Dömitz.

This is the story of how six double rooms and one apartment were created. Mandy Töllner furnished each one herself with particular care for each room’s uniqueness. She succeeded in preserving the charm of the historic building, while adding a fresh touch to it by introducing new decorations, playing with colours, patterns, and fabrics. All her efforts led to a sense of comfort and warmth at the ma maison. Mandy Töllner wants her guests to feel at home and welcome here. Which is why the name of her wonderful boutique hotel is no coincidence: ma maison – my house!

As partner of the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve, the Töllners make a contribution to environmental protection. Minimising the ecological footprint in the sensitive Elbe ecosystem is the goal of this certification. This is why the ma maison uses environmentally friendly cleaning agents, works in a sustainable way, and focuses on local and organic products.

„With her boutique hotel, Mandy Töllner has fulfilled a long-cherished dream and
created a new highlight for visitors of the Elbe town of Dömitz,
the press commented after the opening in July 2018.

Her guests confirm this sentiment by giving the ma maison top marks!
